History
- 1991-1992: A prospectus for African University entitled "African University: A Mandate for Scholarship and Leadership," was developed by William Agbor Baiyee, then a Ph.D. student in Higher Education at Indiana University, Bloomington, Indiana, USA.
- January 1994: African University Foundation was incorporated by the Office of the Secretary of State, Indianapolis, Indiana, USA.
- June 1998: The United States Internal Revenue Service granted African University Foundation's tax-exempt status on June 11, 1998.
- May 1999: African University Foundation was issued a Not-for-profit Tax Registration Certificate by the Indiana Department of Revenue, Indianapolis, Indiana, USA.
- December 1998: Site for African University was identified in Tali, Cameroon. The Tali Traditional Council has reserved 10 square miles for the construction of African University.
- June 2002: Sesesekou Raymond Taku Agbor Baiyee is appointed the Cameroon Representative of African University Foundation.
- August 2002: The Tali community, in a traditional ceremony, celebrated the African University project and blessed the future campus of African University.
- October 2002: Barrister B. Enow Agbor was appointed the Cameroon Legal Counsel of African University Foundation.
- March 2004: African University Foundation adopts a Development Plan.
- May 2004: The Office of the Secretary of State of the State of Indiana issued certificates of trademark for the (a) African University and (b) African University Foundation.
- January 2005: His Excellency Emmanuel Tabi Egbe was appointed the Executive Director of the African University Initiative in Cameroon.
- October 2005: Baiyee-Mbi Agbor-Baiyee, Ph.D. was appointed the President and Chief Executive Officer of the African University Foundation, Indianapolis, Indiana, USA.
- April 2006: African University Foundation, Cameroon is constituted with His Excellency Enow Tanjong appointed as the Chairman of the Board of Governors.
- July 2006: Mr. Scott Truex and Dr. John Motloch of Ball State University College of Architecture and Planning, Muncie, Indiana and Dr. Martha Ndako Baiyee of Eastern Michigan University College of Education, Ypsilanti, Michigan made an exploratory trip to Cameroon regarding African University, Tali.
- March 2007: Dr. Gladys Ejomi Martin, Consultant of African University Foundation, organized a 2-day conference for women leaders in Tali. The conference drew participants from Tali and several surrounding villages.
- January - December 2008: African University Foundation conducts a comprehensive feasibility study in the Tali community area.
- December 2008: African University Foundation organizes a 3-day symposium in Tali entitled "The Role of Higher Education in Sustainable Community Development: The Case for African University."
- December 2009 - November 2010: Schmidt Associates developed Master Plan for African University and Plan for Phase One of African University.
- December 2010: A Delegation of 7 including members from Schmidt Associates and African University Foundation visited Cameroon regarding Phase One of African University.
- May 2011: His Excellency Bayee-Arikai appointed Executive Director of African University Foundation in Cameroon and to direct the effort to establish a Cameroonian non-governmental organization direct the effort to establish African University in Tali, Cameroon.
- August 2011: Association of African University Cameroon established as a Cameroonian non-governmental organization to direct effort to establish African University in Tali, Cameroon.
